Leicester City have been enjoying life under Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Leicester have taken four points from a possible six since the Dutchman’s arrival at the end of November.

The Foxes beat West Ham United and came back from two goals down to snatch a late point against Brighton on the weekend.

Jamie Vardy has scored in successive games under van Nistelrooy and most of the players in general just seem to be in better spirits.

Now, Mads Hermansen has just revealed what the Leicester players did right after learning about Steve Cooper’s sacking.

Mads Hermansen says Leicester players called a meeting after Steve Cooper’s sacking

Speaking to Danish outlet Bold DK, Hermansen revealed that Leicester players had a meeting immediately after Cooper’s sacking.

“It has been a negative situation for everyone that a manager had to be sacked,” the 24-year-old explained.

“That is of course negative, and it’s something we are sad as a club to end up doing. As a group of players, we were quick to get together and discuss what we could do better in the future to avoid it happening again, because it shouldn’t happen in our club.

“It hasn’t sailed… but we haven’t developed enough as a team. We haven’t constantly gotten better. We haven’t left the field and taken something with us that has made us better for the next match.

“As a team, we have failed to build on our level, and it has maybe been a bit standstill the past few months, and that is of course never good for a football team when you aren’t developing as you should.”

Ruud van Nistelrooy already looks an upgrade on Cooper

Cooper’s dismissal was quite controversial among the neutrals but Leicester fans had been calling for him to leave for months.

And, so far, they’ve been vindicated for having that opinion as van Nistelrooy already looks like a huge upgrade on Cooper.

The former PSV boss has implemented an effective press which led to Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s equaliser on the weekend.

In Cooper near fifth-month reign, City never looked like they had any sort of idea on how to press the opposition.

Van Nistelrooy has also made The Foxes much more threatening at the top end of the pitch, with his side netting five times in just two games so far.

So, the future certainly looks much brighter under the Dutchman.
