Mads Hermansen has been excellent for Leicester City since his arrival in 2023.

The Danish shot-stopper joined from Brondby on a five-year deal for an undisclosed fee, to fill the void left by Kasper Schmeichel that was never truly replaced.

It’s safe to say it has been now. Hermansen is a solid keeper for the Foxes, and despite their unfavourable league position, and a questionable amount of goals shipped – there is no dispute Hermansen should be number one between the sticks.

Leicester have conceded a whopping 53 goals so far in the Premier League this season, with Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side on the receiving end of some batterings.

One of these batterings was against Newcastle in December, in which a player Hermansen is extremely fond of actually dispatched passed the 24-year-old.

Mads Hermansen a fan of Alexander Isak

Alexander Isak has arguably been the best striker in the Premier League this season.

The Swedish goal-getter has been electric for Eddie Howe’s side and has cemented himself among Europe’s best, whilst attracting interest from the world’s biggest clubs.

Something Leicester’s goalkeeper has noticed. Speaking to the Premier League, Hermansen was tasked to pick three Fantasy Premier League ‘must haves’. His choices were Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Isak.

Speaking on the Swede, he said: “He’s just been so good so far, and I think he will keep going.”

Isak could have played for the Foxes

In a parallel universe, Isak wasn’t banging goals at St James’ Park, but at the King Power Stadium.

When Leicester were on the verge of lifting the Premier League title in April 2016, the Foxes were watching Alexander Isak at his former club AIK.

This was after the striker, who was aged just 16 at the time, broke into AIK’s first team and scored two goals in four games.

Alas, this never came to fruition, and Isak is scoring goals in Leicester’s net – just against them.
