Conor Coady signed for Leicester City this summer and has been speaking on Ben Foster’s, Fozcast, Podcast about Enzo Maresca.

Coady came through the academy at Liverpool before making a series of loan moves around the EFL.

He signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers in 2015 in a deal worth £2 million.

Under Nuno Espirito Santo, he was the captain as his side won the Championship.

Now Coady finds himself at Leicester under Italian coach Maresca, one of the factors bringing the defender to the East Midlands.

The former Manchester City coach has won six of his first seven games, with a style heavily angled towards passing football.

What has Conor Coady said about Enzo Maresca?

Former Manchester United and Watford star, Foster has gone onto have a successful career in media, through his YouTube.

Multiple current and former players have featured on his show, with Coady being one of the latest.

When discussing Maresca, the Englishman said: “Without a doubt. We knew he’d worked with Pep Guardiola so we were wondering if we would play similarly to City. We were getting excited.”

This appears to be a point that makes the project so enjoyable to be a part of.

His philosophy was of interest to Coady: “It’s all about having the ball. Day one, he speaks about Man City, this is how we do things and how we want to play.

“His ideas, with the keeper joining in with the back four, it’s such a new way of thinking.”

He thrived most during his time at Wolves as part of a back three, and in a fluid defensive line, Maresca’s style suits him.

Coady was full of praise for his new gaffer: “To see what the manager is bringing into the football club is fantastic and we’re loving every minute of it.

“It’s something I’ve never experienced. To be involved with a manager who wants to do that and do it well, it’s fantastic.”

It is clear that the England International is pleased with his decision to join the Foxes and work for the Italian coach.
