Opta reveal highest-rated Leicester City players in 24/25 with Mads Hermansen taking second place

Leicester City have not been at their best in the 2024/25 season but a few players have still impressed at times.

Mads Hermansen made the move to Leicester City in July 2023 from Brondby IF for around £7m.

Replacing Kasper Schmeichel at the King Power Stadium was no small task but the shot-stopper has stepped up to the plate.

Hermansen made his competitive debut on the opening day of the 2023/24 season, going on to keep 13 clean sheets in 44 league games en route to Leicester winning the Championship title and securing a swift return to the Premier League.

Steve Cooper’s men have since endured a rough 2024/25 campaign and go into the weekend’s fixture with Bournemouth winless in their first six.

The goalkeeper, though, has continued to impress at times despite the Midlands outfit struggling defensively on the whole.

Hermansen earned high praise when Leicester lost to Arsenal last weekend, with one journalist backing him to have ‘huge potential’.

Highest-rated Leicester City players in 2024/25 so far

The 24-year-old is not the highest-rated Leicester star so far this season though, with one other player pipping him to that accolade.

Opta have compiled a list of the best Foxes stars from 2024/25 ahead of the club’s latest outing.

The list is determined by Opta Points, rather than a standard 1-10 system, and at present, Hermansen sits second in the top 10 with a points total of 119.8

First place, meanwhile, goes to defender James Justin, who has 121.0 Opta points after six league games.

The remainder of the top-10 list is rounded out by Wilfred Ndidi, Victor Kristiansen, Harry Winks, Wout Faes, Stephy Mavididi, Abdul Fatawu, Facundo Buonanotte and Caleb Okoli.

Mads Hermansen will be key to Leicester City Premier League survival hopes

Hermansen has been an excellent signing for Leicester amid a mixed bag of recruitment over the last year or so.

Despite his best efforts, Cooper’s squad are still heading toward a relegation battle and really need three points before the international break.

Leicester host Bournemouth in a 3pm kick-off on October 5th and it is looking more and more like a must-win tie.

Hermansen was unable to keep a high-flying Arsenal at bay despite making some tops saves across the 90 minutes last weekend.

But the Cherries, of course, do not possess as much of an attacking threat as Mikel Arteta’s men and another top display from Leicester’s keeper on Saturday could be enough to win them the game this time around and kick-start their Premier League survival push.
