The 48-year-old began work at the club on Sunday and spoke to the media for the first time on Monday ahead of his curtain raiser at the King Power Stadium.
And with just over 24 hours to go before his first game in charge, the Dutchman has already provided fans with some welcome news.
Caleb Okoli fit enough for selection against West Ham United
There were fears that Caleb Okoli may be set for a spell on the sidelines after going off injured against Brentford.
Okoli collided with goalkeeper Mads Hermansen during Brentford’s equaliser and had to be replaced by Jannik Vestergaard after being deemed not fit enough to carry on.

The Italian wasn’t spotted in Van Nistelrooy’s first training session as Leicester boss but, like the rest of the side who played on Saturday, was recovering.
Despite the fears that he may not be available, Van Nistelrooy confirmed that the 23-year-old was fit enough to play.
He said: “Caleb was part of team training and looked good. We’ll wait on his reaction. All being well, he will be in the squad.”

Harry Winks set to continue recovery from injury
While Okoli may be available, one who won’t be in the squad is Harry Winks.
The midfielder missed Saturday’s defeat through injury after limping off the previous week in the Foxes’ 2-1 loss against Chelsea.

Winks had been a near-ever present in the Premier League and in the starting XI since his 2023 move from Tottenham Hotspur.
However, Tuesday’s game will come to soon for Winks, confirmed Van Nistelrooy.
“Harry is doing individual work,” said the former PSV boss. “It’s not a long term injury and hopefully we can welcome him soon.”
