Van Nistelrooy was confirmed by the Foxes on Friday and oversaw his first training session on Sunday ahead of the midweek fixture.
A win for Leicester will pull them to within two points of their opponents but they may have to do it without some key players. Caleb Okoli and Harry Winks are doubts for the Foxes however at West Ham, one star will be back in contention.

West Ham team news: Mohammed Kudus available for Hammers after suspension
One of the biggest boosts for Julen Lopetegui will be the return of attacking midfielder Mohammed Kudus.
The Ghana international has missed the last three games following his red card against Tottenham Hotspur in their 4-1 defeat in October.

Kudus had initially been hit with a one-match ban but it was extended by a further two games.
In other team news, striker Niclas Fullkrug is still out of action due to injury.

How does Mohammed Kudus compare to Leicester City’s key player?
Kudus is arguably one of, if not, the best players at West Ham and someone on the Leicester end who could make the difference for the Foxes is Facundo Buonanotte.

Buonanotte scored his fourth goal of the season against Brentford on Sunday and has been one of Leicester’s best players this season.
Both have the ability to change the game on their own and when comparing the two, it appears that the young Argentine is superior in almost every department.
| Stats | Mohammed Kudus | Facundo Buonanotte |
| Goals | 2 | 4 |
| Assists | 0 | 2 |
| Shots | 27 | 22 |
| Chances created | 5 | 18 |
| Dribbles | 28 | 18 |
| Passes | 160 | 219 |
As seen above, Kudus only ranks higher for the number of shots and number of dribbles this season.
Although Kudus has taken more shots, Buonanotte has scored four in comparison to Kudus’ two, and from less shots, making him far more efficient in front of goal.
Additionally, the 18 chances created against the Ghanian’s five shows that Buonanotte can also be the provider, as well as the goalscorer.
