After his watching brief, Van Nistelrooy took charge of Leicester training for the first time and fans are eagerly awaiting to see what he has done in his short time.

In all of the excitement, there are some players who could miss out on his maiden game in charge.

Caleb Okoli – doubt

Caleb Okoli was subbed off in the first half of last weekend’s defeat following a collision with Mads Hermansen during Brentford’s equaliser.

The latest fitness update on Okoli suggested that the Italian would be monitored and further news is expected during the pre-match press conference.

Should he be deemed unavailable, the likes of Jannik Vestergaard and Conor Coady would be expected to start, or a more rogue option, dropping Wilfred Ndidi into the centre-back role, could happen.

Harry Winks – doubt

Saturday’s game came too early for Harry Winks but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him miss out on Tuesday.

During footage of Van Nistelrooy’s first training session in charge, Winks wasn’t spotted in any clips – despite his absence.

Boubakary Soumare has come into form of late and could retain his starting spot. He would almost certainly be partnered by Ndidi or even Oliver Skipp in the middle of the park.

Ricardo Pereira remains out with a long-term issue and isn’t expected to be back until 2025 at the earliest.
