Leicester City suffered a bruising 3-0 defeat to Manchester United at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon.

Steve Cooper’s men made a number of defensive errors and were punished by the out-of-form hosts, who won with ease in truth.

The defeat leaves Leicester in 15th place, dangerously close to the relegation zone heading into the international break.

Leicester fans called for Cooper to be sacked after the game and seeing yet another unbalanced and disjointed display.

Cooper was without key men Jamie Vardy and Ricardo Pereira as they were ruled out of the clash through injury.

And, speaking after the game, he issued a worrying update on the pair.

Ricardo Pereira ruled out for three or four months due to injury

Speaking to BBC Sport after the game, Cooper said that Pereira is expected to miss three or four months of action due to injury whilst the extent of Vardy’s injury is unknown.

“We weren’t the threat we are capable of being, we fell short,” the Leicester boss admitted.

“Jamie Vardy has a back injury and we will have to see how he is, but Ricardo Pereira is out for three or four months.”

It’s understood Pereira has sustained a hamstring injury and quite clearly it’s a serious one given the recovery length period.

That nails James Justin’s place in the starting 11 for the foreseeable future.

Leicester should sign a right-back in January transfer window

Leicester fans have called for Justin to be dropped in recent weeks after a number of poor performances, particularly defensively.

But, as of now, City have no choice but to start the former Luton Town defender, so it’s become evident that’s a position that needs addressing in January after Pereira’s injury.

Brighton and Hove Albion’s Tariq Lamptey is thought to be available, so perhaps he’d be an attainable target.

Though, Everton and Juventus are currently leading the charge for his signature.
