Steve Cooper will have some injuries to contend with ahead of his side’s trip to Southampton this weekend.

Leicester City make the trip down to the south coast to take on Southampton, who are still yet to win in the Premier League this season.

12 players have been away on international duty and Cooper will have some key decisions to make on the availability of some of his stars.

Facundo Buonanotte major doubt for Leicester’s Southampton visit

One star that Cooper will be sweating on the availability of is loanee Facundo Buonanotte.

Fresh from scoring the winning goal against Bournemouth earlier this month, Buonanotte was called up to Argentina’s senior national team for the first time.

His preparations were affected by Hurricane Milton but thankfully he was able to travel with the squad.

Despite being an unused substitute in the draw against Venezuela, the 19-year-old’s next game will be against Bolivia in the early hours of Wednesday morning, UK time.

Buonanotte will then travel back to the club’s training ground, where he will only have one full day ahead of the Southampton game.

The Foxes will be hoping he can feature, but fatigue may play a part, which could in turn allow Abdul Fatawu to get a long-awaited start.

Steve Cooper receives huge Victor Kristiansen boost during international break

One positive Cooper can take away from the international break is that one of his first-choice starters will be available after Denmark allowed Victor Kristiansen to return early.

Kristiansen featured in Denmark’s defeat to Spain on Saturday but came under fire for his performances but due to suspension, would be unavailable for their next fixture.

The full-back has been an ever-present in the starting XI and has also been one of Leicester’s better players.

Thankfully there was no injury to contend with and he will be a nailed-on starter down on the south coast.

Patson Daka and Hamza Choudhury unlikely to feature for Foxes

While there were no new injury concerns for Cooper, he was still waiting for three players to come back before having a fully-fit squad.

Patson Daka is now back out on the grass after suffering an injury before the start of the season but Saturday will come too soon for him as he builds his fitness back up.

An update on Hamza Choudhury is expected from the Leicester boss at his pre-match press conference on Thursday.

Choudhury missed the win against Bournemouth after dislocating his shoulder and if his scan reveals it is severe, he could face months on the sidelines.

Jakub Stolarczyk is the only other absentee and the deputy goalkeeper is still three to five weeks away from returning to training for the Foxes.
