Leicester City manager Enzo Maresca has given an update on Yunus Akgun, after he came off with an injury during the win at Swansea City.
Akgun limped off in the fifth minute of injury time in the Foxes 3-1 win over the Swans, who came from 1-0 down to claim all three points once again courtesy of goals from Jannik Vestergaard, Abdul Issahaku and Kelechi Iheanacho.
They have now extended their unbeaten run and winning streak in the Championship now to seven games, still sitting top of table after winning eleven of their first twelve.
Maresca provides update on winger’s injury

Despite the result, Foxes fans will be worried about the status of Akgun, and Maresca provided an update.
“I just asked him and he didn’t feel something important,” the manager told the Leicester Mercury in his post-match press conference. “It was just something, but not something important, so hopefully he’s not going to lose any games or any days. We’ll see.”
Akgun injury would be blow for Maresca
Akgun’s injury would be a blow for Maresca and the team after what was an impressive international break for the 23-year-old.
The winger scored a stunning goal against Latvia for his nation Turkey, which was nominated for Goal of the Round in the Euro 2024 qualifiers by UEFA.
He came off the bench on Saturday afternoon in the 65th minute, in what would be his seventh appearance in the Championship so far this season, his fourth from those off the bench.
He played a part in both is Turkey’s qualifying matches over the break, starting against Latvia one hat was a fine display, making three dribbles and three passes into the final third along with his goal.
He also came off the bench against Croatia. Maresca will be hoping to have him available for selection once again when they face Sunderland at the King Power Stadium in Tuesday night.
