Conor Coady couldn’t resist a little joke at Jamie Vardy after his goalscoring display in Leicester City’s FA Cup win against Queens Park Rangers.

Vardy scored from the penalty spot to celebrate his 38th birthday in style as Leicester beat QPR 6-2 on Saturday.

QPR boss Marti Cifuentes was frustrated at allowing Leicester to dominate and despite a couple of scares, it was a strong performance from Ruud van Nistelrooy’s side.

Vardy hilariously responded to the away fans mocking him throughout the fixture and the jokes didn’t stop as Coady continued the theme on Instagram.

Conor Coady makes Jamie Vardy Red Bull reference in Instagram post

Bilal El Khannouss and Facundo Buonanotte stood out whilst Wout Faes showed he deserves a place in the Leicester squad again on Saturday but Vardy had another special day to remember.

Even at 38, the forward is capable of giving defenders sleepless nights and thankfully gave himself a birthday to remember.

Coady often posts on Instagram to celebrate a win and this time had an extra message for Vardy.

He said: “Extra Red Bull for the main man tonight on his birthday.”

The joke was in reference to Vardy’s love for Red Bull and after he admitted that his pre-match routine consists of drinking the energy drink before every game.

Jamie Vardy closing in on 200 Leicester goals

Saturday’s win coincided with Vardy’s 197th goal in Leicester colours and further cemented his status as one of the club’s all-time greatest players.

Vardy is working towards joining the top 10 list of the Premier League’s all-time scorers but knows that the illustrious number 200 for the Foxes is in sight.

There is every chance that the forward could hit the magic number across the next two games against Crystal Palace and Fulham.
