After a successful first season at the club, Stephy Mavididi is looking to show what he can do in the Premier League for Leicester City.

Not since Riyad Mahrez has Leicester City had a goalscoring winger, but when Stephy Mavididi arrived, that all changed.

His goalscoring exploits were pivotal as the Foxes won the Championship, returning to the Premier League at the first time of asking.

And although Mavididi has previously played for a top-flight side, this will be his first real opportunity to show what he is capable of.

Stephy Mavididi family: Parents, siblings and girlfriend

There isn’t much information about Mavididi’s family available online although it is known that he is of Congolese descent – despite being born in England.

During his time at Juventus, Mavididi revealed that his father had died.

He does have one brother called Shaun, who is also a professional footballer, currently playing for Newcastle United’s youth academy.

Additionally, there is no information online to suggest that Mavididi is currently in a relationship.

According to Capology, Mavididi earns a salary of £10,000-a-week, equating to £520,000 across the entirety of the 2024-25 season.

This makes him one of the lowest-earning first-team players at Leicester.

When did Stephy Mavididi join Leicester City?

Mavididi signed for the Foxes for an undisclosed fee on 31 July 2023.

In his debut season at the club, the winger scored 13 goals in all competitions and even assisted Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s winner on the opening day of the season against rivals Coventry City.

He then scored his first goal for the club a week later in a 1-0 win against Huddersfield Town and featured in all 46 of Leicester’s Championship fixtures.

Stephy Mavididi started his career at Southend United before joining Arsenal aged 13, where he signed a professional deal in July 2015.

His first taste of senior football came in January 2017 during a loan spell at Charlton Athletic before he linked up with Preston North End at the start of the 2017-18 season. Mavididi then went back to Charlton in January 2018, where he scored his first professional goal.

The following summer saw him depart Arsenal after eight years at the club, opting to sign for Italian giants Juventus instead.

On April 13, 2019, he became the first Englishman to make his debut for Juventus since David Platt in 1992.

Following a loan spell at Dijon, Mavididi remained in France after signing for Montpellier on a permanent deal.

During his time there he became the most-capped Englishman in Ligue 1 history, surpassing Chris Waddle’s total of 108.

In 2023 Mavididi then returned to England to sign for Leicester and is now in his second full season at the King Power Stadium.

Mavididi has represented England at youth level but never at senior level.

He is also eligible to represent the Congo national team however it appears that the winger would only be keen on playing for England, should the opportunity arise.
