Leicester City have plenty of exciting young talents, but not many have the potential Will Alves does.
Alves has been on the lips of Leicester fans for many years and is one of the Foxes’ youngest debutants of all time.
He is destined for a role in the first-team at the King Power Stadium but in the mean time has been on loan at Cardiff City.
Cardiff fans have fell in love with Alves already and his performances saw him called up to the England Elite squad for the international break. However, a worrying update has emerged.

Will Alves withdraws from England U20 squad
The 19-year-old was set to feature alongside fellow Leicester academy star Ben Nelson, who has also been included in the England U20 squad.
Sadly though, the Three Lions confirmed on Thursday that Alves has been forced to drop out of the squad.
There’s no explanation for his withdrawal so far, but it will come as a concern for all Leicester and Cardiff supporters.
Having already had to deal with one long-term setback, as well as miss some Cardiff games through injury, hopefully it isn’t another major setback.
Will Alves’ past injury may haunt him
Although he is still early into his career, the attacking midfielder has had to deal with one long-term injury in his careeer.
In December 2022, Alves, who has been likened to Harvey Barnes, suffered a cruciate ligament tear and spent nearly a year on the sidelines.

It was a huge blow for the young talent, who appeared to be on the cusp of staking a real claim for a place in the first team.
Some could even argue that he would’ve played regularly in the 23/24 Championship campaign as a starter had he not been working his way back to fitness.
