Not The Top 20 Podcast host, George Elek believes that Leicester City haven’t been good enough, despite three wins from three games.
Elek is half of the most popular EFL podcast and often appears as a pundit for Sky Sports.
After relegation last season, the Foxes came into this season as one of the favourites to earn promotion.
Six points from a possible six, paired with a Carabao Cup first round win, has seen Enzo Maresca make the perfect start to life in the Midlands.
With retained players like Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and new signings Stephy Mavididi and Callum Doyle, City have a great squad at their disposal.
Maresca is stamping his philosophy onto this squad and already has them playing in his image.
With all this being said, Elek isn’t convinced just yet.
What has George Elek said about Leicester City?
While speaking on his podcast, he pointed out that the Foxes have been involved in tight knit games this season.
Following the win away at Huddersfield Elek said: “It’s the second time that Leicester City have been involved in a low margin game. It’s the second time that their opposition missed a good opportunity to take the lead.”
Despite the firepower available, goals have been slightly scarce so far, but with Jamie Vardy, Kelechi Iheanacho and Patson Daka at the club, they will come.

The EFL expert likened Leicester to the best Championship teams: “We talk a lot about the quality teams have gone up from this league in the last few years. By this stage I think we always we’ve seen something that is very exciting.”
“I’m yet to see that at the moment from Leicester.”
With a new manager coming in and a squad recently relegated, it will take time to hit stride and show that promotion quality.
With many players never featuring in the league before, it will act as a steep learning curve for some.
Elek did feel it could happen it the future for City: “I’m not saying it won’t come at some point.”
It has been good start this season, as the season continues it is likely Maresca’s men will only get better.
