It’s become glaringly obvious what Steve Cooper’s XI should be for Leicester vs Nottingham Forest

Leicester City picked up their second win of the Premier League season on Saturday afternoon as they defeated Southampton 3-2 at St Mary’s Stadium.

The Foxes had to come back from two goals behind and were helped back their one-man advantage heading into the final stages of the affair.

Abdul Fatawu took home most of the plaudits for his marvellous cameo appearance from the bench, as did Harry Winks.

With that said, it’s become glaringly obvious what line-up Steve Cooper should name when Leicester take on Nottingham Forest on Friday evening.

Steve Cooper has to start Harry Winks, Abdul Fatawu and Ricardo Pereira

Steve Cooper’s team selection has come under heavy criticism this season and his pragmatic style of play hasn’t really won over supporters.

Even yesterday, he opted to bench Abdul Fatawu once again which was made to look like a baffling decision when he came on to turn the game on its head.

The Ghanaian winger laid on an assist for Facundo Buananotte and was a constant threat down the right, causing all sorts of problems.

So, it’s pretty obvious that he must start against East Midlands rivals Nottingham Forest on Friday, as should Harry Winks.

The former Tottenham Hotspur man also made a big impact off the bench and gave the visitors control of the midfield.

James Justin should also drop out for Ricardo Pereira, who was arguably City’s best player of the season last term.

This should be Leicester’s XI vs Nottingham Forest

Cooper must take the learnings from the Southampton game and revert to a more attacking approach.

Hermansen takes his usual place between the sticks with Pereira the only change to the back four.

Winks should partner Wilfred Ndidi in the double pivot with Fatawu and Stephy Mavididi on either wing, Buonanotte in the middle and Jamie Vardy up front.

City must take the onus to attack the game against Forest ahead of another winnable fixture against Ipswich Town the week after.
