It was always going to be a tough ask for Leicester City to stay in the Premier League, but few would’ve predicted it to have gone this badly.
With nine games left, Leicester are nine points behind 17th placed Wolverhampton Wanderers.

After sacking Steve Cooper and replacing him with Ruud van Nistelrooy, the Foxes have only gotten worse, failing to score in seven home league games, as well as losing 13 of their last 14 top flight games.
These are numbers that will likely lead to their relegation – an outcome that Jamie Carragher didn’t foresee earlier in the season.

Jamie Carragher backed Leicester to avoid relegation
Leicester were one of the favourites to go down at the start of the season and as it stands, that prediction will come true.
Despite that, the Foxes found themselves in the dizzy heights of 14th around October time, suggesting that they may have what it takes.
Carragher, who watched Leicester fall to a 3-1 defeat at home to rivals Nottingham Forest that month, was one of those who felt that the Blues were stronger than other clubs around them.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “That’s the first time I’ve had a really good look or commentated on them, really, and I think there was enough in that first half and I think that, you know, they’ve still got a decent chance of staying in the division.
“If I’m being honest, I look at the other two promoted teams (Ipswich and Southampton) and I think it might be tough for them, but there’s definitely something there, you know.”
Leicester could be relegated before May
Since those comments from Carragher, Leicester’s season couldn’t have gone any worse.
A player revolt led to Cooper’s sacking and the appointment of Van Nistelrooy as Leicester manager has been uninspiring to say the least.
They now need at least 10 points to overtake Wolves and as it stands, could be relegated by the west midlands outfit on Saturday 26 April.
The Foxes would still have another four games to play after that and to play them knowing they would be in the second tier next season would be embarrassing for everyone affiliated to them.
