One of the biggest gripes about Leicester City this season is the lack of goals scored.
The Foxes have one of the worst records in the league, scoring 25 times – one more than Ipswich Town (24) and six more than Southampton (19).
To add to the wounds, Leicester made unwanted Premier League history by becoming the first side to lose six home games in a row without scoring after being battered by Brentford.
Jamie Vardy is still Leicester’s top goal scorer with eight in all competitions but is on a barren run of form and like every other player, can’t find the back of the net for love nor money.
Signing a striker appears to be a priority for Leicester, who have been linked with Franculino Gluda Dju in recent weeks.
Leicester did try and sign one striker in the summer, but his side turned down a bid and it seems like it’s the Foxes who have had the better deal.
Leicester tried to sign Fotis Ioannidis in the summer
The Foxes were in advanced talks to sign Fotis Ioannidis in the summer, but nothing came to avail.
Reports suggested that Leicester made a £23.5m bid for the Panathinaikos striker in the summer but after multiple rejections, Steve Cooper tried to turn his attention elsewhere.
His strategy didn’t pay off though and eventually Odsonne Edouard joined as part of a deadline day panic signing.
Edouard is costing Leicester a fortune despite not kicking a ball since 10 November but even still, it seems like the Foxes dodged a bullet with Ioannidis’ form.
Fotis Ioannidis’ 24/25 stats compared to Jamie Vardy
Ioannidis and Vardy are both leaders for their respective clubs, however with the notable age difference, you’d back the former to be the more prolific in front of goal.
Technically speaking, the 25-year-old is having scored nine goals in all competitions compared to Vardy’s eight, but, the Leicester legend has more league goals to his name, finding the back of the net seven times compared to Ioannidis’ five.

Vardy also has a better minute-per-goal ratio by 13 minutes but has played less games in all competitions due to Panathinaikos’ European commitments.
While there is still room for the Greece international to improve, right now, he’d have hardly been an upgrade on Vardy.
