Jamie Vardy has earned himself a fierce reputation over the years for being a proven goal scorer.
Vardy has scored incredible goals against the likes of Liverpool and West Bromwich Albion and his ability has even led to the likes of Erling Haaland studying Vardy.
The Leicester legend has been pivotal in so many moments throughout his years in the East Midlands.
Additionally, he’s also become well known for winding up the opposition, whether that be through celebrations, like Vardy’s taunt to Tottenham fans.
One other club he has been fond of winding up over the years is Sheffield United.
As a boyhood Sheffield Wednesday fan, the 38-year-old will never pass up the opportunity to get one over them and he did exactly that when he scored a late winner against the Blades in December 2020.
Jamie Vardy destroys corner flag after scoring winner against Sheffield United
The Foxes travelled to bottom of the table Sheffield United in December 2020 as Brendan Rodgers’ side had top four aspirations.
Played in an empty Bramall Lane due to the ongoing Covid-19 restrictions at the time, there were no fans for Vardy to directly taunt.
However, with the two sides level at 1-1 heading into the 90th minute, the forward was slipped in by James Maddison to leave him one-on-one with Aaron Ramsdale, who named Vardy as his toughest opponent.
He made no mistake and buried it into the bottom corner to hand the Foxes an important three points.
Fuelled by the adrenaline of a last-gasp goal, Vardy then promptly ran towards the corner flag before taking it out and snapping it in half with a thunderous tackle.

Jamie Vardy sent messages to LGBT+ fan group after corner flag celebration
On the day of Vardy’s goal the corner flags had been changed to the Pride flag colours to mark the annual activation of Stonewall’s Rainbow Laces campaign.
Many had initially misjudged Vardy’s celebration after suggesting it was a negative response to the campaign.
However, Leicester City’s official LGBT+ supporters’ group Foxes Pride revealed that he had sent the flag which had been part of the destroyed poll with a goodwill message that read: “FOXES PRIDE – keep up the good work!” with Vardy’s signature underneath.
The group responded on social media to add: “”We are proud and grateful for the support that Vardy and Leicester City FC continue to show for Rainbow Laces, LGBT fans and Foxes Pride.”
