Leicester City fan’s anger toward Jon Rudkin was been building steadily over the course of the 2024/25 season.
Jon Rudkin has been Director of Football at Leicester City since December 2014.
The Foxes have enjoyed success under him but it’s fair to say he has really underperformed in his role over the last few years.
Recruitment has been poor and was especially dire in the summer of 2024, leaving Leicester fighting for their survival at the bottom end of the Premier League table in 2024/25.
The Midlands outfit have amassed just 14 points this term and are now on a seven-game losing streak in the top flight.
That has seen the Foxes chief garner a fair bit of unwanted attention from supporters. Leicester fans slammed Rudkin during a 4-1 defeat to Brentford at the Gtech Community Stadium just before Ruud van Nistelrooy took charge.
More recently, ‘we want Rudkin out’ chants were loud and clear during the weekend’s defeat to Fulham.

Leicester City summer transfer target now wanted by AC Milan
One area Rudkin really failed to deliver in over the summer was up front. After much searching, the Foxes eventually signed Odsonne Edouard on loan from Crystal Palace on August 30th.
Six months later, that addition has proven to be a complete disaster, with Edouard still yet to score a league goal and no longer being included in matchday squads by Van Nistelrooy.
Things could have been very different had Rudkin managed to secure the services of one player, however.
Reports in August claimed that Leicester asked about signing Santiago Gimenez from Dutch outfit, Feyenoord.
However, no move came to pass but the striker could be on the move this winter as Italian outlet La Gazzetta dello Sport are now reporting that Gimenez is wanted by AC Milan.

Santiago Gimenez 2024/25 stats compared to Leicester City strikers
Had Gimenez moved to Leicester, their season could have looked very different at this stage.
The 23-year-old had a superb 2023/24 campaign, netting 26 goals and providing eight assists in all competitions.
He has now continued that form into the current season, outscoring every single Leicester forward.
| Player | Appearances | Goals | Assists |
| Santiago Gimenez | 17 | 13 | 3 |
| Jamie Vardy | 21 | 7 | 3 |
| Patson Daka | 11 | 1 | 1 |
| Odsonne Edouard | 6 | 0 | 0 |
It’s another case of what if for the Foxes and fans are likely even more sick of Rudkin after letting Gimenez slip through the net.
