Harry Souttar’s move from Leicester City to Rangers looks to be slowing as no agreement over the financial side of the deal has been made.
The Scottish side are still keen on signing the Australian on loan but finances are causing issues.
The centre back signed from Stoke City for £15 million in January and was a mainstay of the Foxes defence as they were relegated.
Under Enzo Maresca, Souttar doesn’t appear to have a starting spot as he hasn’t been in a matchday squad since opening day.
As a result, links away have been rife, and Rangers are the team with the strongest interest.
There are rumours suggesting Souttar is on £40,000 at the King Power, so a loan would have to see the Foxes cover the majority.
The issue comes with the disparity between Scottish Premier League and English football finances.
With Glen Kamara and Ianis Hagi set for moves away from Ibrox, wages may be freed up.

As a £15 million addition, he will be hard to get off the books as a permanent signing.
The issue with a loan is that it doesn’t help either party.
If Leicester want shot of Souttar, and he wants out, take the hit and recoup as much money as possible.
There may be problems when it comes to the Aussie not wanting to let go of a lucrative contract.
It is abundantly clear that he isn’t going to be a cog in Maresca’s system. Passing and concentration are among his limitations, with both needed in the Italian’s system.
In a side that plays a more no-nonsense system he will flourish, but that is not Leicester anymore.
