Leicester City are set to sign winger, Silko Thomas on a free transfer from Chelsea as City look to bolster their squad for the season.

It has been reported that the teenage winger has opted to join the Foxes, despite offers from various other clubs.

Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers have been the strongest links but Enzo Maresca appears to have won the race.

The Foxes have won every game so far this season.

With a youthful look to their squad including Kasey McAteer and Wanya Marcal.

Maresca has wanted to sign an additional winger for his squad, alongside Yunus Akgun.

Thomas appears to be that player.

Who is Silko Thomas?

The 19-year old has been at Chelsea for his whole youth career, starting with their under 10s.

He has played 60 games for the Blues and made 15 goal contributions in that time.

Able to play off the left or the right, Thomas provides versatility in attack, despite his youth.

He has speed and skill in buckets and if he can recognise his potential, he could be a very useful signing on a free.

Flying in tandem with fellow youngsters McAteer and Marcal could be a unique weapon as the Foxes look to get promoted.

You don’t play for Chelsea’s youth academy if you haven’t got that special something.

Getting involved in a top Championship team and getting some men’s football under his belt, he could turn out to be a gem.

On a free transfer, it is a win, win situation.
