David Ornstein has now revealed the likelihood of Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall departing Leicester City this week.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall has been hugely influential in Leicester’s surge towards the Championship title.

With nine goals and nine assists in 31 matches from midfield, there’s no surprise that several Premier League sides are trying their luck before the deadline.

It’s been an unusually quiet transfer window across the board as many clubs are reluctant to do business after seeing the ramifications financial fair play can have.

Everton were, of course, deducted 10 points for breaching PSR and that’s an outcome sides will want to avoid.

In the case of Leicester, they are yet to make a signing after watching Cesare Casadei return to Chelsea, although a move for Stefano Sensi is close to competition.

As for their stance on Dewsbury-Hall, they remain insistent that he isn’t for sale and have slapped a £40 million price tag onto the 25-year-old, as per talkSPORT, to warn off any potential suitors.

Brighton are the biggest of those and they held talks with the Foxes last week, but Arsenal, Brentford, Fulham and Everton have identified him as a player of interest.

David Ornstein says whether Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall will depart Leicester

As a boyhood fan of the club, Ornstein accepts that it’s unlikely he’ll jump ship so late on in the window, especially when Leicester are seven points clear at the top, but he does concede that interest from Brighton could potentially turn his head.

Speaking to BBC Sports When You’re Smiling podcast, he said: “Brighton, European football, Premier League, and it sounds to me like if he is to go, that’s the most attractive option.

“So, what we know now, no agreement in place. And maybe Leicester will make sure it’ll end that way and the window closes and he remains a part of their plans. But it’s certainly a situation just to keep an eye on and watch as we get towards the deadline because he’s a player that I know Brighton want and have been pushing hard for so it’s a possibility”.

At this stage, Leicester are firm in their stance that he isn’t for sale and unless a ridiculous bid comes in for him, which is unlikely, it looks as though the Englishman will remain at the King Power beyond the window.

Keeping such an important cog in their winning machine will be crucial to them securing promotion and while that will only increase the number of clubs interested, his price tag will likely be more inflated in the summer.

On top of that, should Maresca choose to sell his star player in the summer, he’ll have more time to find a replacement.

For now, Leicester can enjoy watching their incredible talent in action against Swansea City this evening.
