Leicester City’s relentless pursuit of new signings could also see several players leave the King Power Stadium this month.

Leicester City are closing in on a transfer for Woyo Coulibaly, the 25-year-old right-back from Parma who would become Ruud van Nistelrooy’s first signing.

There are also many potential exits dominating the headlines, including striker Patson Daka, who has been linked with AS Monaco.

Meanwhile, striker Tom Cannon is wanted by four clubs, with the Englishman currently starring on loan at Championship side Stoke City.

Cannon’s departure from the King Power Stadium would leave many fans with a bitter taste in their mouth, although similar can’t be said for another player.

Hamza Choudhury could join Sheffield United ‘this week’

Hamza Choudhury is another has been linked with a move out of Leicester City this month.

Sheffield United have eyed a loan move for Choudhury, who has played just 130 minutes this term, while some outlets have reported a permanent exit for the 27-year-old.

Choudhury recently changed his nationality to Bangladesh after being capped seven times by England under-21s in the early stages of his career.

Now, after almost two decades in Leicestershire, the combative midfielder could become the first departure of the van Nistelrooy era.

As reported by Tom Collomosse on X, Choudhury may join the promotion-chasing Blades ‘this week’ as the Foxes close in on a transfer for Coulibaly.

It hasn’t been suggested whether his departure is permanent or on loan but it appears the end of the road could be near after 131 appearances in blue.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s transfer priorities at Leicester

As van Nistelrooy aims to free up the wage bill by offloading some of his fringe players, he’s under immense pressure to deliver a game-changing transfer window.

With Leicester awaiting the verdict of their latest PSR hearing, the Dutchman is having to ignore the noise of a potential points deduction and get signings through the door.

Admittedly, with the Foxes in 19th position and two points from safety, bringing in new signings is proving tough.

Leicester’s capture of Coulibaly would get the ball rolling, though, and then they must target a new centre-back, right winger and striker.

Under the constraints of PSR rules, the owners are being mindful of their finances and watching what they spend but filling the above positions with starting quality is necessary for survival.
