Leicester City had a period between 2016 and 2022 where they were able to attract some of the best talent in Europe.
Indeed, the remarkable Premier League title win in 2016 really put them on the map and then Brendan Rodgers was able to guide the club to successive European campaigns and an FA Cup.
Leicester used their pull to sign the likes of Wesley Fofana, Youri Tielemans and James Maddison, just to name a few.
However, they also missed out on a fair few targets, particularly during the 2022 summer when PSR restrictions really started to take hold.
With that said, one of the targets who was on the verge of joining that year is now excelling in Italy and is wanted by Manchester United.

Leicester almost signed Charles De Ketelaere in 2022
Back in 2022, Leicester were really confident of completing the signing of then Club Brugge playmaker Charles De Ketelaere.
The Foxes had just come off the back of an eighth-placed finish in the Premier League and a European semi-final, so they were considered a really attractive destination for many.
However, the club had to pull out of the deal due to PSR issues and he ended up joining Serie A giants AC Milan instead.
Now at Atalanta, De Ketelaere has been in sensational form and has registered a whopping 22 goal contributions this term.
Such form is putting a number of clubs on red alert.
Man United and Man City now want to sign De Ketelaere
According to TEAMtalk, Manchester United and Manchester City are showing a serious interest in signing De Ketelaere ahead of the summer transfer window.
The 23-year-old, who has been likened to Kevin De Bruyne, is believed to be valued at around £49m by Atalanta.
It’s understood a bidding war could ensue between the two Manchester rivals after scouting him in recent weeks.
So clearly, from a Leicester perspective, it’s clearly one that got away.
