Leicester City are close to completing their eighth signing of the summer 2024 transfer window but still have ambitions to bring in more new faces before the deadline.
The Foxes look close to completing the signing of Morocco international Bilal El Khannouss from Belgian side Genk.
As first reported by Sacha Taviolieri, El Khannouss is set to arrive in Leicester on Wednesday (28 August) after the two clubs agreed on a fee rumoured to be £19.3m.
El Khannouss’ arrival means that Steve Cooper will have secured the services of a number 10 – a position he has been desperate to bolster.

While the news of the 20-year-old’s arrival will bring some optimism to the King Power Stadium, Cooper is keen to fill another key position before the 30 August deadline.
According to The Telegraph, the Foxes will continue to search for a number nine as they look to bolster their Premier League survival chances.
Leicester have struggled with their pursuit and have seen offers for Wilfred Zaha, Adam Hlozek, and Fotis Ioannidis all knocked back so far in this window.
Santiago Gimenez is another name who has been linked but his price tag is likely to put off the Foxes, who are limited with what they can spend due to profit and sustainability rules.
Jordan Ayew was brought in earlier this window but isn’t seen as someone who is expected to lead the line.

Cooper has pushed for the need to get attacking players through the door at the King Power Stadium and after his side’s 4-0 win against Tranmere in the Carabao Cup, he said: “As soon as the league started, I’ve been very clear about what I feel would be helpful, but I’m really committed to the guys I work with every day.
“Any manager will tell you that come the close of a window, you want to be in the strongest position possible. We’re no different.
