Leicester City could have a chance to sign a promising talent from Tottenham Hotspur in the January window.

The Foxes made nine additions to their squad during the 2024 summer transfer window in a bid to avoid a relegation scrap this time around.

After losing to Nottingham Forest in their last Premier League fixture, Leicester City sit 15th in the league table going into their meeting with Manchester United this weekend.

But with just two wins from 10 and only five points separating them and the relegation zone, fans are no doubt keen to see their side improve in January.

Leicester have a chance to sign Mostafa Mohamed after missing out on the forward during the 2024 summer window.

Now, one pundit has named the King Power as a possible destination for struggling Tottenham Hotspur star, Archie Gray.

Archie Gray could join Leicester City amid Leeds United transfer interest

Spurs signed Gray from boyhood club Leeds United during the 2024 summer window for a fee believed to be around £38m.

The 18-year-old has made 10 appearances for the Lilywhites since leaving Elland Road but has garnered just 41 minutes of Premier League action this term.

A potential return to Leeds this summer has been touted but pundit Carlton Palmer, speaking to Football League World, thinks the Whites have missed their chance to get Gray back.

Palmer instead believes a Premier League club are likely to come in for the player, with the pundit naming Leicester as a potential option.

He said: “He’s highly rated, but his game time has been affected, he hasn’t had enough game time. He has only played 393 minutes of action in all competitions so far this season, so the question remains, will they let him go out on loan?

“If they do let him go, Leeds may have just missed out on his return with Premier League clubs interested. It would be a great bit of business if they could pull it off, but there will be lots of competition for the midfielder.

“I don’t think he’d want to go to the likes of Southampton, who are struggling, maybe Leicester City, who are just outside the drop.”

Archie Gray is perfect Leicester City transfer target

While Leicester have not been officially credited with an interest in the player, he would be the perfect signing for Steve Cooper.

Gray is a versatile player but is best suited to operating in the right-back role – a position Leicester are really lacking quality in right now.

Leicester fans hit out at James Justin for his showing in the 5-2 defeat to Manchester United last week.

Said game was not the first time Justin has greatly underperformed this season but the signing of Gray would provide the Foxes with a solid replacement for the 26-year-old.
