Leicester City could make a late move to sign a £6.6m player on transfer deadline day.

Leicester City fans may finally have something to cheer about in what has been a drab transfer window so far.

The Foxes have only made one addition to their squad despite being firmly in a relegation battle under Ruud van Nistelrooy.

Leicester fans were angry at a transfer update earlier on Monday that stated deals are unlikely to be made on deadline day.

However, the door was still open for the Midlands outfit to secure a late move if it improves their squad, much like they tried in the summer.

Now, Leicester’s interest in a player has been confirmed by one of the stars’ team on Monday afternoon.

Leicester City interested in signing Loum Tchaouna

The player in question is Loum Tchaouna, who Fabrizio Romano previously reported looked to be on his way to Van Nistelrooy’s old club.

Now, however, Sport Witness have an update from the player’s entourage, confirming the Premier League side’s interest.

A member of the Tchaouna’s team told the outlet: “Yes, Leicester City want to sign him. But it will be difficult.”

Leicester are said to want a winger through the door before the window slams shut so the link does make sense, but as mentioned above, a move may prove tough to complete.

What Leicester City fans could expect from Loum Tchaouna

Tchaouna began his playing career with Stade Rennais before leaving France for Italy to link up with Salernitana.

He then secured a move to Lazio in the summer of 2024 for a fee reported to be €8m (around £6,.6m) by OneFootball.

Tchaouna has since made 24 appearances for Lazio, in which he has scored two goals and provided one assist.

The 21-year-old is a natural right winger so should be a solid replacement for Adul Fatawu if he signs. However, he can also play as a 10 and on the left.
