Steve Cooper has sent a transfer message to Leicester City’s owners over the need to replace Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

It has been a summer of change at the King Power Stadium, both on and off the pitch.

Following Enzo Maresca’s departure, former Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper has been brought to Leicester City.

Cooper is facing the unenviable task of keeping the Foxes in the Premier League after their promotion to the Championship last season.

In a bid to avoid the drop, Leicester owner Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha has backed the club well in the 2024 summer transfer window so far.

Issahaku Fatawu, Caleb Okoli, Michael Golding, and Bobby De Cordova-Reid have all joined Leicester’s first-team squad.

There may still be further additions in the Midlands before deadline day, as Leicester have opened talks with Arsenal for Reiss Nelson.

Steve Cooper urges Leicester City to replace Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall

While Reiss Nelson could add some quality to Leicester’s attack, Cooper wants another position strengthening this summer.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall left Leicester for Chelsea earlier this window for £30m.

The midfielder scored 12 and assisted 14 in 44 Championship games and his exit is a big blow for the Foxes.

Now, Cooper has urged Leicester to replace Dewsbury-Hall while also hinting at the club’s ‘clear’ transfer plan, as per Leicester Live.

“(Dewsbury-Hall) obviously had a really good season last year and the more I watched games from last year, the more I understood how well he did.

“He’s gone, good luck to him. We’ve got to look forward now. We’ve certainly got to replace him and some other positions, which we’re actively trying to do.

“There’s lots of stuff going on that I don’t think has managed to reach you guys (in the media).

“The club are working really hard and we’re really joined up in what we want to do. There’s a clear plan. Hopefully we can get a few players over the line, and the quicker the better.”

Who will Leicester City replace Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall with

Dewsbury-Hall was crucial to Leicester’s promotion triumph last term and finding an adequate replacement is expected to prove challenging.

One player the Foxes have been linked with who could be a potential replacement is Arthur Melo.

Leicester were handed a boost in their pursuit of Arthur this week when Premier League rival Everton distanced themselves from a transfer.

The Brazilian previously struggled in the English top flight with Liverpool, making just one appearance.

But the 27-year-old refound form while on loan at Fiorentina in 2023/24, playing 48 times and helping the Italian outfit reach the Europa Conference League final.
