Steve Cooper has been given a deadline to save his job amid the Foxes’ rumoured interest in other managerial candidates and will look to get one over former Leicester boss Enzo Maresca, who returns to the club for the first time since his summer departure.

Chelsea could be without as many as seven players due to injury and Leicester City will hope to take advantage and pick up some much-needed points.

Leicester City team news

The Foxes will definitely be without Facundo Buonanotte, who is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card in the league against Manchester United.

One of the biggest upsets is the news that Abdul Fatawu will be out for the rest of the season after the Leicester boss confirmed he had suffered an ACL injury.

Meanwhile, Ricardo Pereira could be out for four months after he missed the Man United loss.

Jamie Vardy has trained all week and looks like he will be back in contention to start after missing the last game.

Jordan Ayew could also be available after fears over a knee injury picked up on international duty aren’t as bad as first feared.

Patson Daka could be in the matchday squad for the first time this season after recovering from a long-term injury picked up in the Foxes’ final pre-season game.

Daka has been training with the squad and given Odsonne Edouard’s lack of minutes, a place on the bench isn’t out of the question.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid is also back from injury.
