Leicester City are missing key man Victor Kristiansen from their starting line up against Aston Villa.
Foxes fans are fuming with Ruud van Nistelrooy’s team selection as Facundo Buonanotte was dropped to the bench in favour of Jordan Ayew.
The only other change made to the squad has seen Luke Thomas replace Danish full-back Kristiansen.
More worryingly, the left-back isn’t even in the squad which has left some fans speculating about his absence, but, one journalist has provided an explanation as to why he isn’t in the squad at all.

The reason why Victor Kristiansen isn’t in Leicester squad to face Aston Villa
As fans speculated about Kristiansen’s whereabouts online, TalkSPORT journalist Geoff Peters was able to reveal that the 21-year-old was missing from the side through illness.
Posting on X, he said: “Victor Kristiansen missing for Leicester at Villa today due to illness.”
Should his replacement Thomas fall to injury then there will be no other left back option available.
Wout Faes would be the most likely candidate to fill in whilst James Justin could also move across to left-back and Hamza Choudhury be brought on to play in the makeshift right-back role.
Leicester City’s record at Villa Park is a good omen for Foxes
Both sides know that a positive result for them could have a huge impact at either end of the table of the Premier League, but one side may be feeling more confident than the other.
Villa Park has been a happy hunting ground in recent times for the Foxes of late having won three of the last four games at the hosts’ ground.
Their most recent trip came back in January 2023 when Leicester beat Villa 4-2 on a day that Kristiansen made his debut.
Leicester also had a debut goal from Brazilian winger Tete in a fixture that many hoped would inspire the club to safety.
