Leicester City fell to a fourth straight defeat despite an encouraging display against Manchester City on Sunday.
Man City had an incredible record against Leicester going into the game and despite their recent alarming form, were still likely to be a formidable test.
The Foxes looked encouraging in the first half but were undone after Phil Foden’s long-range effort was weakly parried away by Jakub Stolarczyk into the path of Savinho, who scored his first goal of the season.
Despite dominating for the entirety of the second half it was the visitors who grabbed the second goal as Erling Haaland ended his run of four games without a goal to double their advantage.
Defeat means Ruud van Nistelrooy has matched an unwanted 21-year record as the East Midlanders remain in the bottom three.
Here’s how Leicester City News rated the Foxes’ display against Man City.

Leicester City player ratings

Jakub Stolarczyk – 6/10
Should’ve done better for the Man City goal by parrying away for a corner but still did relatively well.
James Justin – 6/10
Van Nistelrooy has faced calls to drop James Justin but in fairness to the right-back this was one of his better performances of the season.
Went close to scoring but his shot was blocked off the line. Encouraging signs though and hopefully this is the sign of him turning a corner.
Conor Coady – 6/10
Very solid display from the leader at the back. Always bellowing orders, looked confident on the ball. A shame the result didn’t warrant the performance.
Jannik Vestergaard – 6/10
Like Conor Coady, the centre-back was solid at the back. Even caused a few problems in the Man City box.
Ultimately, it wasn’t enough.
Victor Kristiansen – 6/10

After Victor Kristiansen’s best performance in a Leicester shirt against Liverpool, it was another astute display from the Danish left-back.
It’s easy to forget that he is still only 21 but he seems to be growing in confidence.
Harry Winks – 6/10
It’s no coincidence that when Harry Winks plays, Leicester look better.
Winks brings an element of calmness to the Foxes side while also controlling and dictating the play.
Never shy to ask for the ball, even against one of the best teams in the league.
Boubakary Soumare – 610
Another solid display in the middle of the park for the Foxes and the Frenchman looked more solid from a defensive perspective too.
Is turning into a walking yellow card after his seventh booking of the season and needs to work on his discipline.
Facundo Buonanotte – 7/10
Returned to the starting XI after sitting the last four games out and made a good impression.
Was bright, linked up with his fellow attackers well and certainly offered more of a presence than those who have been selected ahead of him in recent weeks.
Bilal El Khannouss – 8/10

Bilal El Khannouss caught the eye of Foxes fans once again and was one of the standout performers on the pitch.
He’s always buzzing around, looking to create something and gets better with each week that passes by.
Stephy Mavididi – 7/10
Gave Rico Lewis a real hard time out on the left-hand side and also produced some brilliant crosses that couldn’t be finished off by his teammates.
A huge improvement on recent weeks.
Jamie Vardy – 6/10
Was offside multiple times throughout the first half and squandered a great chance where he opted to use his foot instead of his head.
Huffed and puffed and worked extremely hard up top though.
Substitutes
Hamza Choudhury – 6/10
