One of Leicester City’s players has been recognised by his national team colleagues after being included in their Players’ Football Association Team of the Year.
To be recognised for any award is always an honour, but when it’s voted for by your teammates, it means something extra special.
Leicester have a host of talented international stars with Facundo Buonanotte previously compared to Lionel Messi whilst there are also representatives from nations in Africa, Europe and further wide.
Ruud van Nistelrooy needs all of these stars to work together to help Leicester City achieve their goal of staying in the Premier League.

Mads Hermansen named in Danish Team of the Year
Mads Hermansen has been one of Leicester’s best players this season.
Without Hermansen, Leicester would’ve dropped more points and conceded even more goals, which is why the £6.5m star is outperforming every Premier League goalkeeper at present.
His excellent 2024 has been rewarded by being named in the Danish Players’ Football Association.
To make it extra special, Hermansen was selected ahead of Leicester legend Kasper Schmeichel, who won the Championship, Premier League and the FA Cup in a decorated career at the King Power Stadium.
Hermansen’s Leicester teammates, Jannik Vestergaard and Victor Kristiansen, will wait to see if they have also been nominated by their national team peers for a spot in the XI.
The latest Leicester update on Mads Hermansen injury
The Foxes could really do with having Hermansen back in the side given that barring Southampton, no side has conceded more goals than Leicester in the top flight.
Sadly though, it appears that the 24-year-old will be out for a while longer and the prolific shot-stopper recently went to see a specialist.
Hermansen hasn’t been available since being substituted at half time of the 4-0 defeat away to Newcastle United with a groin injury.
Van Nistelrooy confirmed that they are doing everything they can to ensure a quick return but no official return date has been revealed so far.
