One Leicester City gem has outlined the reasons he joined Leicester City following their relegation.
Leicester City have managed a massive transformation over the past two years, which was sparked by the surprise relegation at the end of the 2022/23 Premier League campaign.
Several sales were made, and the core of the Foxes’ side was ripped out, leaving a challenge on the hands of former boss Enzo Maresca in heading a rebuild.
A year on, many of the players signed at the start of the 2023/24 Championship season have certainly settled into life at Leicester City and were certainly key in the side jumping straight back up to the Premier League.
Whilst the likes of Harry Winks, Stephy Mavididi and Issahaku Fatawu were significant signings in the short Maresca reign, one other was a key signing under the former Italian coach and he has highlighted the reasons why he joined the club last season.

Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen highlights why he joined the club last season
Foxes shot-stopper Mads Hermansen most certainly deserves praise for taking over from Leicester legend Kasper Schmeichel at the start of the 2023/24 season, and the 24-year-old has done incredibly since, especially in the Championship, where he conceded just 41 in 44 games.
The Leicester City keeper has reflected on the positive start to life at the club and also why he joined in the first place, as he said, per the Ben Foster podcast: “They’d [Leicester City] been following me for a few years. With Maresca coming in as manager, my profile suited quite well for him.
“I had some interest from other clubs, but Leicester was for sure the best option for me. It was kind of an easy decision.”

Mads Hermansen has the capabilities to be a top Premier League goalkeeper
The ‘top’ Leicester City goalkeeper has been brilliant in-between the sticks, and he has done well to not look out of place in the Premier League ever since the promotion to the top flight.
His clean sheet against Bournemouth showed that he has developed a lot since his arrival at the club, and for a shot-stopper at the age-of-24, he does not have a ceiling limiting his potential at this rate.
As it is assumed that Leicester City will likely be in-and-around a relegation fight at the back end of this season, Hermansen could very well be crucial, especially if he is able to replicate such performances as the Bournemouth win, in which he was instrumental in.
