We’re coming up close to the halfway point of the Premier League season and it’s been a campaign of ups and downs for Leicester City.
Since the return to the top flight the Foxes have had a busy time and already changed the manager once after Leicester sacked Steve Cooper and replaced him with Ruud van Nistelrooy.
The new Leicester boss has one win, one draw and two defeats from his opening four games in charge and as it stands, are just about on course to stay up and are two points clear of the bottom three.

Some players have been standout performers at the King Power Stadium while others must up their game if they are to guide Leicester to survival.
So, with that, here is how Leicester City News have graded every player’s performance so far.

Mads Hermansen – 9/10
It’s hard to imagine where Leicester would be without Mads Hermansen.
The Foxes’ number one has been pivotal to keeping Leicester out of the bottom three and any time he is absent is evident.
Hermansen is outperforming every Premier League ‘keeper this season and will be crucial in the second half of the campaign.
Danny Ward – 3/10
Danny Ward was booed by Leicester fans against Wolves after a difficult display in goal.
Van Nistelrooy defended Ward but he hasn’t covered himself in glory and as one of the Foxes players out of contract in 2025, it’s likely that we won’t see much more of him.
James Justin – 5/10
James Justin has struggled in defence this season, with a large proportion of goals conceded coming down the right-hand side.
Justin has looked a shadow of his former self but, as the only fit right back, has no option but to play.
Ricardo Pereira – 5/10
We’re yet to see Ricardo Pereira feature under the new management regime as he continues his recovery from a long-term injury.
It’ll be early 2025 before we see the Portuguese defender back in action and the right-back will be hoping that his fortunes will turn around after hardly featuring under Cooper.
Wout Faes – 4/10

A very disappointing campaign for Wout Faes, who is now considered to be one of the most experienced players in the squad.
Since the change of manager, Faes has been dropped to the bench and not started a single game.
The Belgian international has been at fault for numerous errors and it explains why the Foxes are looking at new defensive options this summer.
Jannik Vestergaard – 5/10
Jannik Vestergaard has returned to the starting XI after Cooper banished Vestergaard from the Leicester squad in his final days at the club.
The defender hasn’t been perfect however and the two games against Newcastle United and Wolves showcased that as he formed part of a damaging stat revealed by Robert Huth.
Caleb Okoli – 6/10
It’s been pretty up and down for Caleb Okoli, who has found himself out of the starting XI in recent weeks.
There’s bags of potential in the young Italian and he will have an important part to play over the year in Leicester’s survival hopes.
Conor Coady – 5/10
Conor Coady has come back into the fold since Van Nistelrooy’s appointment and formed an important part of Leicester’s win against West Ham.
He’s lost his way since then and if a new defender is to come in it will probably be at his expense but his leadership is still vital.
Luke Thomas – 3/10
The Foxes academy star has featured sporadically and only played in the Carabao Cup games and against Brentford but has failed to impress.
Is sadly no longer of the quality to play for Leicester and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him leave in January.
Victor Kristiansen – 6/10

One of the first names on the team sheet this season, partly due to lack of options, but also because he has shown positive signs.
His defending needs some work but he is a reliable asset going forward and allows the left winger to cut inside, opening up space for him to deliver crosses from wide.
Oliver Skipp – 5/10
There was concern over the transfer fee Leicester paid for Oliver Skipp and it seems like he still has more to do to prove himself.
Skipp is prone to a late tackle or two and has been booked multiple times and failed to really show why the Foxes paid as much as they did for him.
He’s yet to have a run in the first team but there is still plenty of time to turn it around.
Wilfred Ndidi – 6/10
Wilfred Ndidi has been missing for the past two weeks during injury and his tenacious work rate in the middle of the park has been missed.
It’s no coincidence that both of Leicester’s losses under Van Nistelrooy have come when Ndidi isn’t playing and the Nigeria international has formed a solid partnership with Harry Winks and Boubakary Soumare.
Boubakary Soumare – 7/10
One of the great turnarounds at Leicester City.
Soumare’s time at the King Power Stadium looked done and dusted but now when the £17m star doesn’t play, Leicester look worse.
The Frenchman has left Leicester with a decision to make and at this point, it’s hard to see who he drops out of the squad for.
Harry Winks – 6/10
Harry Winks is the conductor of the Leicester orchestra and can dictate how the Foxes will play.
Winks missed the first three weeks of Van Nistelrooy’s reign due to injury but returned in the 3-0 loss against Wolves and will have an important part to play.
His top flight experience is crucial and should he return to the levels he showed before his injury and last season, Leicester will stay up.
Hamza Choudhury – 4/10
Hamza Choudhury has really disappointed this season.
Game time has been hard to come by but when given a rare chance, he hasn’t taken it.
Choudhury was one of two Leicester players who took 60 minutes to tackle a player against Newcastle and he will be one of those that could move on given that Leicester have a plethora of midfield options.
Bilal El Khannouss – 7/10

Bilal El Khannouss was singled out by Van Nistelrooy in his first game in charge and the Morocco international has been one of the best players this season.
He is still raw but is looking better with each game week that goes by as he gets more confident and will be a star for the East Midlanders.
Facundo Buonanotte – 8/10
Despite Van Nistelrooy’s bizarre choice to leave Facundo Buonanotte out of the side, there’s no denying that he has still been one of the Foxes’ best players this season.
Buonanotte had to cool down comparisons to Lionel Messi earlier this season but his technical ability on the ball and ways of creating something have wowed fans who want Leicester to sign the Argentine permanently.
Stephy Mavididi – 5/10
It’s been a hit-and-miss campaign from Stephy Mavididi so far.
He’s still yet to fully show the talents he did in the title-winning campaign under Enzo Maresca but with a lack of wide options, Mavididi will be given a chance to step it up.
Abdul Fatawu – 6/10
Abdul Fatawu looked like he was going to be a hit in the Premier League for Leicester until his injury that ruled him out for the rest of the season.
Fatawu’s game-changing display against Southampton will be remembered for the remainder of the season, regardless of
He’ll be a big miss.
Bobby De Cordova-Reid – 5/10
Credit where credit’s due, Bobby De Cordova-Reid has managed to win over some Leicester fans.
The Jamaica international earned rave reviews from Fulham supporters but looked nothing like that in his early days.
Under Van Nistelrooy the utility man has been much better and even scored an equaliser in the 2-2 draw against Brighton.
Could be a great squad player going forward.
Kasey McAteer – 5/10
Kasey McAteer has been included under Van Nistelrooy but not exactly set the world alight.
Physically, he could do with a lot more improvement and if January signings are made in the wide position, he could be loaned out.
Jordan Ayew – 6/10
Eyebrows were raised when Jordan Ayew was signed by Leicester but he has largely been okay.
Ayew’s nickname of super-sub showcases where he is best utilised for the East Midlanders, especially when it comes to seeing out games.
As a starter, he is often too slow on the ball and can kill a lot of Leicester attacks.
Odsonne Edouard – 2/10
Odsonne Edouard’s loan signing can be considered a disaster.
Having hardly featured under both managers, it seems inevitable that Edouard will head back to Crystal Palace in January to free up another space.
Jamie Vardy – 8/10

What else is there to say about Jamie Vardy?
Vardy is closing in on the 150 Premier League goals tally and even has Jermain Defoe wanting Leicester to get relegated as he eyes up entering the league’s top 10 goalscorers of all time.
The Foxes captain will be 38 in January but has shown no signs of slowing down and has excelled once again/
