Leicester City fans will be fearing the worst following Abdul Fatawu’s latest social media activity.

Fatawu had been on international duty with Ghana and played in their 1-1 draw against Angola, but was substituted in the first half with an injury.

Fellow Leicester teammate Jordan Ayew was also injured as scans revealed he had a “significant knee problem”.

Both players withdrew from the squad as Ghana’s Football Association said that “following consultations between Black Stars’ medical head Dr. Prince Pambo and Leicester City’s medical team, Ayew and Issahaku will rejoin their club on Sunday to begin rehabilitation.”

Abdul Fatawu spotted wearing knee brace in latest social media post

Although the extent of Abdul Fatawu’s injury is still unclear, the 20-year-old looks like he may be set for a lengthy period of time on the sidelines.

In a post on Snapchat, shared by Leicester fans around the world, Fatawu appeared to be wearing a knee brace.

At the time of writing there has still been no update on how long the winger would be out for, but it looks like he could be out for the Foxes’ next game against Chelsea on Saturday.

Who will replace Abdul Fatawu against Chelsea?

Whilst there could be a chance that the youngster recovers in time for this weekend’s game at the King Power Stadium, there will be plenty waiting in the wings to take their chance.

Given that Ayew is also unlikely to be fit in time, this provides the perfect chance for Bilal El Khannouss to get the nod.

Facundo Buonanotte is suspended after picking up his fifth yellow card of the season in the defeat against Manchester United, meaning this is the perfect chance for El Khannouss to stake a claim for a place in the starting XI.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid is another option who can play out wide but after struggling to make an impact since his summer move from Fulham, there will be an air of reluctance to play him.

Alternatively, there could be a formation change that may include a rare start for Odsonne Edouard to play up front alongside Jamie Vardy.
