Bilal El Khannous and the two other players Steve Cooper needs more from at Leicester City

Leicester City’s position in the Premier League would suggest that some of their players have underperformed this term.

Leicester have entered the international break just three points above the relegation zone and supporters have called for Steve Cooper to be sacked after the loss to Man United.

The Foxes will return from the break ready for a crucial list of fixtures over the Christmas period and they must stay above the dotted line.

Some of their players will be crucial to winning further points, most notably Facundo Bounanotte, while others need to step up during this period.

So, with that said, here are three players Cooper needs more from at Leicester.

Bilal El Khannouss

Leicester captured attacking midfielder Bilal El Khannouss for £21 million from Genk towards the end of the summer transfer window.

Despite arriving with the hype surrounding his signature, it’s been an underwhelming start to life at the King Power Stadium for the Moroccan.

The 20-year-old has started just twice in the Premier League as Buonanotte continues to flourish in an attacking midfield role while Khannouss was handed an ‘underwhelming’ verdict against Everton.

With starting opportunities at a premium, coming off the bench on six occasions, the precocious will hope to make more of an impact after the break.

Odsonne Edouard

In the summer transfer window, the Foxes were on the hunt for a new striker and after failing in their attempts to sign one, they instead captured Odsonne Edouard on loan from Crystal Palace.

Edouard was signed as a direct rival for Jamie Vardy, who continues to show why he’s a ‘freak’, with the Englishman keeping him out of the team.

The French forward has played just 142 minutes across six Premier League appearances while Edouard was even left out of the starting XI against Man United in the Carabao Cup.

It’s been a difficult start for the 26-year-old at Leicester, and over the Christmas period he must make inroads into the starting XI, otherwise, it will be a transfer failure.

Bobby De Cordova-Reid

Leicester signed the versatile Bobby De Cordova-Reid from Fulham on a free transfer in the summer.

The 31-year-old promised to offer Cooper some much-need versatility, as he’s capable of operating across multiple positions but so far, Reid simply has not been good enough.

Since the defeat against Aston Villa in August, he’s appeared for just 11 minutes in the top flight and in the Carabao Cup loss to Man United, Reid lost every single duel.

It’s going to take some turnaround for the Jamaican to get the fans onside, although there is still plenty of time for him to achieve that aim.
