Ruud van Nistelrooy is up against it. The Foxes sit inside the relegation zone, two points behind Wolves in 17th.

Chelsea forward will miss Leicester City match

Leicester City’s record against Chelsea is awful. The Londoners are unbeaten in the last seven meetings, winning six and drawing one.

The Foxes haven’t beaten the Blues since an FA Cup tie in May 2021. It has been even longer since they took three points in the Premier League (Jan 2021).

November’s first league meeting saw Chelsea win 2-1 thanks to goals from Nicolas Jackson and Enzo Fernandez. However, Jackson, despite terrorising the Foxes’ backline last time out, won’t feature when the teams meet again in March.

Enzo Maresca has confirmed the 23-year-old has picked up an injury and won’t return until after the international break.

Leicester City travel to Stamford Bridge on the 9th of March. Jackson is expected to be out until at least the end of that month.

Ruud van Nistelrooy will take any little thing

Although Jackson’s absence won’t decide March’s match, it will certainly help the Foxes’ chances of taking something from the country’s capital.

Van Nistelrooy knows how tough Leicester City’s final fixtures are compared to Wolves’.

Not only will the 2015-16 champions play Wolves in a six-pointer in April, but they still have to face five of the league’s top six sides:

An incredibly hard run, and one that makes Wolves the clear favourites to secure Premier League survival.

With this in mind, it goes without saying that although Van Nistelrooy won’t be wishing harm on opponents, he’ll secretly be pleased Jackson won’t be around to score against his side again.
