Leicester City, like many other clubs, experienced a frustrating transfer window.

Despite needing plenty of new players in, the Foxes were only able to sign one player in the transfer window.

Woyo Coulibaly has only had a few chances to showcase his talents but still appears to be behind James Justin in the pecking order.

Added to the fact that Ruud van Nistelrooy was unable to bring in a striker and centre-back has only added to the frustration, with Leicester losing every game since the transfer window closed.

One other Leicester player was close to feeling the same frustration in the window before sealing a late deadline day move, but, it came at a cost for Derby County.

Derby County missed out on Kelechi Iheanacho transfer

Kelechi Iheanacho had a difficult start to life at Sevilla after leaving Leicester last summer.

Iheanacho’s manager hit back over comments about his weight after a poor start but was still loaned out to Middlesbrough on deadline day.

Middlesbrough fans are already frustrated with Iheanacho after several below-par performances which have seen him dropped to the bench.

He could’ve gone elsewhere though as The Telegraph reported that Leicester’s Midlands rivals Derby County wanted the Nigerian in January.

In the end, the Leicester hero turned down the chance to go to Pride Park in favour of heading to the north east and played a small part in Boro’s 1-0 win against Derby after his shot was blocked before Fin Azaz scored.

Michael Carrick puts faith in Kelechi Iheanacho after difficult Boro start

Life hasn’t been too easy for Iheanacho and the forward is facing plenty of competition for a place in the starting XI – despite the departure of former Leicester target Emmanuel Latte Lath.

Whilst some fans turned on him within the first two games, Middlesbrough manager Michael Carrick is determined to keep the faith in the forward and backed him to become a success.

Speaking to Teesside Live in February, he said: “Kel’s got some great experience and pedigree with the level he’s played at over a long, long period.

“He’s desperate to play. He’s been a fantastic personality since he arrived and has trained great with the boys. He’s desperate to get started.”
