Five crazy things that have happened since Leicester City last scored a Premier League goal at home

A lot can change in a short space of time. For Leicester City though, one thing hasn’t changed at all.

Since Bobby De Cordova-Reid’s stoppage time equaliser against Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday 8 December 2024, the Foxes haven’t scored a Premier League goal at home.

That’s over 12 hours without a top-flight goal at the King Power Stadium and as a result, Leicester broke a 141 year record by losing eight home games in a row without scoring following a 3-0 loss against Newcastle United.

With over four months passing since the Foxes’ last goal, here’s five things that have happened in the world, both in football and life itself.

Donald Trump wasn’t the US President

If there was ever a sign to show just how long Leicester have gone without a goal, it’s this.

Although Donald Trump had won the US election in November 2024, back when Leicester were partial to a goal or two, he didn’t actually take office until 20 January 2025.

Thankfully, the Blues have at least scored and won a game in that period, but even still, since Trump was in the final stages before returning to the role of President, the Foxes haven’t scored.

North Korea started streaming Premier League games

Little is known about the secretive state who have often done their best to keep anything outside of North Korea quiet.

That all changed in February 2025 when it was revealed that the country had decided to broadcast highlights of Premier League games – with some changes.

Since this was made common knowledge, North Korean fans of the Foxes haven’t seen the side win or score, home and away, in that time.

Southampton sacked Russell Martin… and another manager

In any other season you’d have Leicester nailed on for a bottom of the table finish. Thankfully, the Foxes’ blushes have been spared by Southampton.

The Saints are on course to break Derby County’s record-low points tally of 11 and currently sit on 10.

Russell Martin, who may possibly be a Leicester target this summer, was sacked by the basement boys and replaced by Ivan Juric.

There was no upturn in form though and Juric was recently sacked by Southampton after their relegation to the Championship was confirmed.

Myles Lewis-Skelly made Premier League debut, England debut and scored first England goal

As Jeremy Monga made Premier League history with his senior debut for the Foxes against Newcastle, he became the latest in a list of young talents to make their first steps in the world of professional football.

Myles Lewis-Skelly is one of those to burst onto the scene this season and has consolidated his position as Arsenal’s first-choice left-back. Lewis-Skelly has been one of the players of the season and subsequently earned a maiden England call-up before scoring on his senior international debut against Albania.

He also became the youngest England debutant ever.

Bukayo Saka got injured, recovered, played again and scored

Another Arsenal player features and that’s their poster boy: Bukayo Saka.

The winger has had an injury-ravaged season and spent plenty of time on the sidelines but made his return in style as he came off the bench to score in the Gunners’ 2-1 win against Fulham on 1 April.

If only Ruud van Nistelrooy had someone like that to call upon and trust to make an immediate impact on their return.
