Leicester City have had players come and go over the years, but not all of them are fond of departing.
Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s departure to Chelsea is a recent example after he was unwillingly sold to help Leicester fight their PSR concerns.
Whilst names like Jamie Vardy have stuck around, even some Leicester legends have had to call time on their career.
Mark Albrighton retired in the summer to leave Vardy as the last remaining member of the Premier League title-winning season but one former star admitted that his departure was hard to take given that he never wanted to leave in the first place.

Why did Kasper Schmeichel leave Leicester City?
Legends don’t come much bigger than Kasper Schmeichel in the East Midlands.
When the the Danish international arrived from Leeds United in 2012 for £1m, nobody foresaw what an impact he would have.
He won the Championship, Premier League, FA Cup, and Community Shield with the Foxes before reluctantly departing in 2023.

Schmeichel left for Nice in the same season Leicester’s 10-year stay in the top flight was brought to an end.
It came as a surprise to everyone, including the man himself, who admitted that he would’ve stayed if it was up to him.
“I never wanted to leave Leicester,’ he said in 2023. “It was a weird situation, in the sense that I was coming into the last year of my contract, I was turning 35 we had the World Cup and this offer from Nice came in.
“It was more of a test; ‘I’m 35 they’re offering me a three-year contract are you interested in keeping me?”, and the response I got unfortunately told me everything I needed to know.
“To then see what happened the season after was awful. I spent every Saturday watching the games, and it wasn’t fun to watch.”
Kasper Schmeichel is loving life at Celtic since signing new contract
It’s been a rocky road for Schmeichel since leaving Leicester but he appears to have found his feet again at Celtic.
A failed spell at Nice was followed by and equally difficult stint at Anderlecht before he reunited with his former Leicester boss, Brendan Rodgers, at Celtic in the summer.

The 38-year-old now looks like a man enjoying his football and has 20 clean sheets from 34 games at the time of writing, conceding just 28 goals
His performances have also seen him light up the European stage with some brilliant Champions League performances and on 22 January, Schmeichel signed a one-year contract extension.
Is Kasper Schmeichel returning to Leicester City?
For the time being, Schmeichel is set to remain in Glasgow and more than likely will until he hangs up his gloves for good.
However, the Denmark star has made no secret of his love for Leicester and did admit in 2023 that it would be hard to turn down a fairytale return to the club he loves so much.
He said: “If Leicester came calling I don’t think I could ever turn them down.”
Maybe we will see him back in the shirt, or in a coaching/boardroom capacity one day.
