Jamie Vardy is once again proving that he has plenty of life in the tank after another incredible performance for Leicester City.
Vardy scored and assisted one as Leicester drew 2-2 with Brighton & Hove Albion on Sunday.
The Foxes were two goals down with 10 minutes to go, however, Vardy reduced the deficit with three minutes to go before sliding the ball across for Bobby De Cordova-Reid to equalise in the 90th minute.
De Cordova-Reid said Vardy was ‘a joke’ after leading by example yet again and the latest incredible stat proves that he could be pivotal to keeping Leicester in the top flight.

Vardy’s equaliser for the Foxes was his sixth of the season, making him Leicester’s top scorer for the 2024/25 campaign.
To be playing and scoring as regularly as he is aged 37 is one thing, but to continue his consistency at the elite level is another.
As per One Football via FanSided World Football, the Leicester captain now has double the amount of goals (six) than what he scored the season the Foxes were relegated in the 2022/23 season (three).

It’s no coincidence to see that the more goals Vardy scores, the higher up the Premier League table the Foxes are.
As it stands, Leicester are on course to stay up and should he keep up his scoring record, there’s no reason why the Foxes’ talisman can’t end up with 15-17 goals himself.

Throughout his career, Vardy has broken many records and the next big one isn’t too far away.
The goal against Brighton took his Premier League total to 142 goals, making him the top flight’s 15th best goal scorer of all time.
By doing so, he now sits eight behind Michael Owen, who is 11th with 150 goals and 20 behind Jermain Defoe, who is 10th with 162 strikes.

Considering Vardy didn’t play in England’s top flight until the age of 27, to even be anywhere near this tally is a remarkable feat.
Those goals have also helped the Foxes win the league title, as well as secure back-to-back top five finishes.
