Leicester City kick off the Premier League weekend with a home clash against title-chasing Arsenal.

Ruud van Nistelrooy’s men have almost been written off before a ball has been kicked, with many seeing no chance of Leicester City pulling off an upset.

The Foxes are currently 18th in the table, two points adrift of safety, while Arsenal are hot on the heels of Liverpool in the Premier League title race.

It would therefore take an unbelievable performance from Van Nistelrooy’s men to secure a win, or even a point, with Paul Merson predicting Arsenal to beat Leicester.

Since it’s only one win in 10 league matches for the hosts, there has been little to shout about from the stands, with Leicester fans planning to protest in the 14th minute at the King Power Stadium.

Van Nistelrooy has urged the fans to get behind the team when the game kicks off, and they may get behind one potential decision.

Jeremy Monga left out of Leicester City’s under-21 squad vs Newcastle

The present situation is looking bleak for Leicester, who could suffer an immediate return to the Championship, though the future is also looking bright.

Several stars are emerging from the academy at Seagrave, and arguably the most promising is 15-year-old Jeremy Monga.

The ‘wonderkid’ winger has been dazzling against players six years his senior for the under-21s, which prompted Van Nistelrooy to name Monga on the bench against Man United.

Alongside fellow 16-year-old Jake Evans, Monga missed training because of school but interestingly, the winger wasn’t named in the under-21s squad against Newcastle United on Friday.

This has prompted supporters to question whether the teenager will feature on the bench when they face Arsenal, especially since Evans started up front against Newcastle and continued his stellar form.

Evans has been integrated into the first-team picture at Leicester after starring for the under-21s this term, becoming their main striker.

The teenage centre-forward has shown a knack of scoring all types of goals, displaying the devastating finishing that supporters have watched from Jamie Vardy over the years.

In the absence of Monga on Friday, Evans sent a clear message to Van Nistelrooy by scoring a hat-trick against Newcastle.

The England under-16 star now has nine goals in just 11 Premier League appearances this term, making him the joint-top scorer in the competition alongside Crystal Palace’s Jemiah Umolu.

Leicester will have a bright future if Evans and Monga continue their rapid development as they’re already exceeding expectations.
