Leicester City goalkeeper Mads Hermansen has been left wanting more from his Leicester City teammates after the 1-1 draw with Everton.

Going into the game, Leicester City fans would have been hopeful of a first Premier League win of the season against bottom of the table Everton.

However, that hope soon turned to despair as Everton took the lead in the 12th-minute through Iliman Ndiaye.

Steve Cooper watched on as his side struggled to break down their opponents up until Stephy Mavididi benefited from a defensive mix-up following a Harry Winks corner to draw Leicester level and secure a point.

Mads Hermansen says Leicester City must ‘work hard’ to improve

Whilst Leicester fans will understandably be frustrated not to have taken all three points against Everton, the performance on the day was not one that deserved a win.

The Foxes managed just two shots on target despite trailing from early in the game, whist their opponents had five.

Had it not been for goalkeeper Mads Hermansen, the game could have got away from Leicester but he was on hand to make a number of decent stops to keep his side in the contest.

Following the draw, Hermansen has taken to Instagram to issue a rallying cry to his teammates, posting a picture of himself making a high catch with the caption: “Need to work hard and get better than this. Thanks for your support.”

Leicester have struggled defensively since returning to the Premier League so it is perhaps understandable Hermansen wants a little more from those in front of him.

Cooper’s side have not been conceding a shedload of goals but they have conceded in every league match so far this season and have gone behind in four of their five games.

If Leicester can find a way to keep clean sheets then they will significantly boost their chances of climbing the table, especially when you consider that they have also scored in every fixture so far.

That will be difficult to put right immediately given it is Arsenal up next for Cooper, but Hermansen will be desperate to get his first Premier League clean sheet under his belt.
