Ruud van Nistelrooy has opened up on the first conversation he had with Leicester City star Jamie Vardy
Van Nistelrooy spoke to the media for the first time on Monday ahead of Leicester’s game against West Ham United.
The Dutchman was asked a plethora of questions where he provided a huge update on Caleb Okoli’s fitness.
Of course, one of the biggest talking points focused on Leicester legend Vardy and his boss had plenty to say about the forward.

Ruud van Nistelrooy finally addresses Jamie Vardy record
Last year marked the nine year anniversary of Jamie Vardy breaking Van Nistelrooy’s record of scoring in consecutive Premier League games.
Van Nistelrooy tweeted Vardy at the time and now they will have the opportunity to work together for the first time.
During the press conference on Monday the 48-year-old joked that he was annoyed that his new club captain broke his record and that it was the first thing they discussed.
He said: “It’s a problem of course that he broke my record! That’s what I told him straight away. That was the first thing I said to him. I beat him commenting on it.
“I wished him well at the time. It’s weird how things go sometimes.”

Ruud van Nistelrooy on what Jamie Vardy can offer Leicester City
He may be 37 but there is no sign of Vardy slowing down anytime soon.
The forward is one of Leicester’s joint-top scorers this season with four goals this term and is expected to be a key figure in the battle for survival.
Van Nistelrooy has already given his verdict on Vardy but when asked again, the Dutchman hinted that the Foxes forward will have a huge part to play going forward.
“It’s somebody who has had a career for a long time. He’s been fit all along,” the new Leicester boss said.
“He’s helped every team he’s played for at Leicester. He’s still producing. It’s a great striker and it’s great to have him in the squad.”
