Leicester City host Manchester City in a huge Premier League showdown on Sunday.

It’s been an unhappy period for Leicester over the Christmas schedule, suffering defeats at the hands of Wolves and Liverpool.

Leicester’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool on Boxing Day saw the Foxes drop into the relegation zone, piling pressure onto Ruud van Nistelrooy ahead of 2025.

There have been rare positives to emerge from their previous two matches but one thing that will leave supporters feeling happy is the amount of talent coming through the academy.

Midfielder Harvey Cartwright was spotted in Leicester training before the loss against Newcastle along with potential James Justin replacement Jayden Joseph.

The integration of youth into the first-team squad shows the future is bright at the King Power Stadium, and they aren’t the only new players to have been spotted in training.

Leicester City academy duo spotted training ahead of Manchester City clash

On Saturday afternoon, Leicester posted images on Instagram of two academy stars training before they host Man City on Sunday.

Pictured on the left is Harvey Godsmark-Ford, a talented young defender, and on the right is goalkeeper Stevie Bausor.

Godsmark-Ford and Bausor have become the latest players to train ahead of a Premier League match this season.

The goalkeeper’s inclusion is hardly surprising given Mads Hermansen’s current injury while defender Godsmark-Ford may feel there is a chance he will play in the future if their troubles at the back persist.

Who is Harvey Godsmark-Ford and Stevie Bausor

Leicester have a rich history of developing some brilliant talent through their academy and if their track record is anything to go by, the above duo could be the latest.

Goalkeeper Bausor is a 19-year-old who was welcomed into the Foxes first-team at the start of the campaign and spent time with the senior squad during pre-season.

The young shot-stopper has made five appearances in Premier League 2 this term, conceding nine goals and is yet to keep a clean sheet.

Bausor is from England however, he has expressed interest in representing South Africa internationally as he continues his progression with the under-21s.

As for Godsmark-Ford, he’s a centre-back who currently captains the under-21s and has made 10 appearances in Premier League 2 this term.

The 21-year-old is known for his defensive nature and ability to read the game but he did score the equaliser against Everton last week as he showcased his attacking prowess.

Godsmark-Ford has been a regular with Leicester’s academy for years and like Bausor, one day dreams of breaking into the first-team.
