Steve Cooper has had a difficult start to life as Leicester City boss.
For most managers sitting 15th in the Premier League with a club promoted the season before, it could be considered as a job well done so far.
| Position | Team | Played MP | Won W | Drawn D | Lost L | For GF | Against GA | Diff GD | Points Pts |
| 15 | 11 | 2 | 4 | 5 | 14 | 21 | -7 | 10 |
But for Cooper, the Leicester manager has had it tough. Two wins from 11 Premier League games and a questionable style of play has led to some Foxes fans calling for Cooper to be sacked already.
The Leicester hierarchy appear to be sticking with him for now and the 48-year-old wants to get the supporters on his side and if given the tools, believes he has the perfect formula to do so.

Steve Cooper taking inspiration from Unai Emery to turn Leicester fortunes around
One of the biggest criticisms Cooper has faced is the way he sets up Leicester.
Under Enzo Maresca last season, there was a definitive style of play. Ricardo Pereira would play a quarterback role as such, transitioning into a central midfield role when the Foxes were in possession whilst the left-back would move in centrally to form a back three.
Attacking wise there were two wingers, one holding midfielder and a number eight, all based on possession.
Cooper doesn’t seem to be in favour of that philosophy but is instead drawing inspiration from the Aston Villa boss, Unai Emery.

According to The Telegraph’s John Percy, the Welshman wants to deploy two number 10’s behind the main centre-forward, with two number eight’s sat just behind, enabling the full-backs to bomb on forward and provide width to the side.
Leicester City targeting full-back as one of three January signings
The transfer window is just around the corner and fresh faces will be targeted to boost the Foxes’ survival hopes.
Percy added in his column that three positions are being eyed up in particular. A left-back and forward who are ready-made for the starting XI are prime candidates, as well as a back-up goalkeeper to challenge Mads Hermansen.

However, after Cooper confirmed Abdul Fatawu would be out for the rest of the season, their may be a rethink in strategy.
Dipping into the loan market to replace Fatawu could be the best option for Leicester given that money will also need to be spent elsewhere.
