Leicester City fans have grown tired of the way their club has been run over the last several years.

Leicester City fans protested against Arsenal last weekend amid growing discontent around the club.

Jon Rudkin continues to draw anger from supporters and with the Foxes on a dire run of form, fans have had enough.

Leicester recruited poorly in the 2025 winter transfer window and have been left floundering in a relegation fight following a run of nine losses in 10 before Brentford.

In turn, fans chose to protest before and during the Arsenal clash last week, opting to do so in the 14th minute of the match in reference to a failed transfer in 2017 that saw the Midlands outfit miss out on Adrien Silva because the deal was not completed until 14 seconds after the deadline.

Ruud van Nistelrooy on Leicester City fans protesting

Ahead of the protest, Ruud van Nistelrooy sent a message to fans, hoping they would still get behind the players against the Gunners.

Leicester lost that clash and were once again back in Premier League action on Friday evening versus Brentford.

Ahead of that match, Van Nistelrooy shared his thoughts on the protests that took place last week, admitting he didn’t really see much.

Speaking live on Sky Sports in the build-up to the game, he said: “I think it’s pure passion what you see around you.

“Passion for the football club to do better and that is a great thing to see and to feel and to represent that.

“I feel in the Arsenal game we were supported really well. I didn’t hear any negativity. The fans were all behind the team.

“We all suffered, off and on the pitch with those late goals. The protest, I haven’t really seen that because we were already in the stadium preparing for the game.

“So the supporters did that separate from us. So that helped. We were focusing on the game and when we went out there was nothing visible about that and that felt like great support.”

Ruud van Nistelrooy comments on Leicester City mentality

Another defeat against the Bees would have proven to be a disaster for Ruud and the players in their battle for survival.

But Van Nistelrooy, also speaking pre-match, was of the belief his players still had a strong mentality despite recent woes.

He said: “It is the missing link, taking those performances into points. That’s what the frustration is. We know consistency comes with hard work.

“The development is there. We believe if we carry on like this we can get points.”
