Congratulations everyone, we’re now halfway through the first international break of 2025.

As Thomas Tuchel prepares to take charge of England for the second time against Latvia tonight, Leicester City are busy working behind the scenes ahead of a huge end to the season.

Survival is looking unlikely but as the famous phrase goes: ‘Never say never.’

They did it before in 2015 and can do so again but, for now, here is today’s Leicester City news roundup.

Several Leicester stars are in action around the world, but for some, they sadly never got chance to feature at all.

After Zambia’s World Cup qualifiers were postponed, a friendly against Russia was organised.

Patson Daka was one of those expected to be in contention to play for Avram Grant’s side but when the squad was released, he was nowhere to be seen.

Zambia are due to play Russia on 21 March.

Former Leicester manager Dean Smith signs new MLS deal

He may have been the man at the helm when Leicester were last relegated, but Dean Smith can’t take much of the blame.

After all, Smith was only in charge for eight games and since then, has gone on to take over MLS side Charlotte FC.

Smith guided them to a record points tally of 51 last season and has had a strong start to this current campaign, leading his team to an unbeaten start at home.

His performances have been a joy to watch in the US and as a result, Smith earned himself a new contract.

Matheus Cunha handed additional one-game ban by FA

There isn’t much for Leicester fans to cling onto in the hope for survival.

However, their relegation rivals Wolverhampton Wanderers have been handed a further blow after Matheus Cunha was handed an additional one-game ban for his conduct in the FA Cup loss against AFC Bournemouth.

He won’t miss the game against the Foxes on 26 April but should Wolves lose and Leicester win games in that time, the pressure may be put back on them.
