Wesley Fofana could line up against Leicester City as one of the several former Foxes representing Chelsea.
Leicester face Chelsea at Stamford Bridge and will come up against Enzo Maresca and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.
Fofana, who has returned to training, could also be in contention but his relationship with supporters is very different.
Dewsbury-Hall has confirmed he won’t celebrate if he scores against Leicester and Maresca has the utmost respect of supporters after winning the Championship in the 2023/24 campaign, but it’s a different story after the comments made by Fofana in 2022.

Wesley Fofana criticised Leicester City after Chelsea move in 2022
After returning from a long-term injury at Leicester, Fofana ended up going back to his best and subsequently catching the interest of some of football’s biggest clubs.
Chelsea were the side most interested, which led to the Frenchman handing in a transfer request and refusing to play.
In the end, he got his wish and moved to west London for a £75m fee. Brendan Rodgers accused Fofana of downing tools after he was left out of squads and even refused to turn up to training, with Rodgers telling the BBC he was affecting the “environment and stability” of the club.
However, despite trying to settle the differences, Fofana only wound Leicester fans up more by claiming that he had been thrown under the bus by the Foxes.
“I chose not to communicate during this transfer window despite all the criticism and all the often false and misleading comments, even when they were coming from the club,” he wrote on Instagram.
“I understood and I learned. I didn’t want to damage the image of the institution and I chose to take it rather than answer.”
Chelsea have given Leicester over £200m in transfers since 2016
Chelsea have always seen Leicester as a happy hunting ground when it comes to recruiting players.
Since purchasing N’Golo Kante in 2016, Chelsea have handed over £200m in transfers to Leicester.
Some have been more successful than others, for example Kante, while others like Danny Drinkwater failed to set the world alight.
| Player | Year Joined | Transfer Fee |
| Wesley Fofana | 2022 | £75m |
| Ben Chilwell | 2020 | £50m |
| Danny Drinkwater | 2017 | £35m |
| N’Golo Kante | 2016 | £32.5m |
| Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall | 2024 | £30m |
The Foxes haven’t used the money wisely, with poor recruitment often cited as the reason for their relegation and ongoing battles, but should another hot talent come through and make an impact, there is every chance that Chelsea may come calling again.
