What Chelsea fans are saying about former Leicester City ace Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is very alarming

Leicester City offloaded three players during the summer transfer window last year, and one of those was Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

Dewsbury-Hall fired Leicester to the Championship title last season, with only Jamie Vardy scoring more than his total of 12 in the second tier.

The 26-year-old was a crucial player under Enzo Maresca, and Leicester fans were excited to see how he would fare as a regular starter in the Premier League.

However, just like many players have done at the King Power Stadium, the Englishman was sold by a big-money move elsewhere.

Chelsea signed Dewsbury-Hall for £30 million in the summer, reuniting him with Maresca, who also departed for the Blues.

Dewsbury-Hall was seen as a solid signing for the Premier League giants, although comments from Chelsea fans suggest it’s a move that has backfired.

Chelsea fans think Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is a flop

Since making the switch to Stamford Bridge, Dewsbury-Hall has only made eight appearances in the top flight, with most of his action coming in the Europa Conference League.

The versatile midfielder has started in all but one fixture so far, including last night’s 2-1 victory over Copenhagen in the round of 16 first leg.

Maresca used Dewsbury-Hall as a left winger in the first half and switched him over to the right in the second, and he was ineffective in both positions.

Reacting to his performance on X, formerly Twitter, Chelsea fans blasted the midfielder’s performance, with some even labelling him as one of their ‘worst’ ever signings.

“I don’t think it really needs to be said at this point but Dewsbury-Hall is shocking. One of the worst players to play for Chelsea in my lifetime,” one fan wrote.

“Dewsbury-Hall is so bad,” another replied.

“I actually think Dewsbury-Hall is a worse signing than Mudryk, would deffo be in the top 10 of terrible signings,” a third said, even suggesting he’s worse than Mykhailo Mudryk.

“The expectations were low for Dewsbury Hall but he’s still somehow underperformed them,” one person admitted.

“Dewsbury-Hall is genuinely one of the worst players i have seen play for Chelsea,” a sixth wrote while a seventh replied: “Dewsbury-Hall is nowhere near the calibre of player that should be at Chelsea.”

Dewsbury-Hall stats vs Copenhagen

The above comments are alarming to read as it appears Chelsea fans have lost faith in Dewsbury-Hall already, with it looking likely he could be sold in the summer.

The former Leicester maestro was at fault for Copenhagen’s goal as he was guilty of ball watching, and his all-round performance – as highlighted by the supporters – was terrible.

It was a completely anonymous performance from Chelsea’s No.22, who needs to show some serious improvement; otherwise, his career at Stamford Bridge could be finished.
